Hope for a better Australia
Horrific, devastating, toxic.
The intense summer blazes,
My eyes sore from the ash-filled, smoky sky.
Water supply inadequate due to drought.
Firefighters risking their lives to save our country.
Australia is burning.

Lives lost, homes destroyed, animals singed, our environment ruined.
Fierce winds spreading the disaster.
The stench of chaos fills my nose.
Our sun a round ball of fire.
Hope for a better Australia
The scene around me is too painful to watch.
But I can’t keep my eyes off it.
Big clouds of smoke everywhere I go
But no water.
Australia is burning.
Next summer we will be more prepared.
Policies will be put in place to save water.
Water restrictions, shorter showers, using the
half-flush button where possible.
Installation of water tanks to save our precious water for a not- so rainy day.
There is hope.

Next summer, our firefighters will have the tools to overcome these terrible blazes,
If we choose to help.
If we stick to the policies.
If we care about our Australia.
There is hope for a better future.
There is hope for a better Australia.
