This book is, as explained on the last page, based on the results of English lessons focusing on globalisation. The students were asked to create a single page blog entry to be collected in our Globalisatzion-BlogBook. But they were obviously so interested in that topic and at the same time fascinated by the opportunities Bookcreator offers that most of the students designed 3 or more pages using two pages of the single-page-layout as one page. Our whole book - as published on our school's website (http://www.bbgbonn.de/unesco/bbg-projekte) -
contains about 70 pages.
This (first) competition entry is a new version of some of the blogs which were originally created in October 2019, remastered by a group of students hoping that the pre-cover and the cover do not count towards the 11 page limit.

I hope you enjoy reading as much as we enjoyed creating this amazing result.
Yours sincerely,

Defining Globalisation
Globalisation means the worldwide change on an economic, technological and cultural level.
The phenomenon of westernisation is summed up and becomes very vivid in this short story about a butterfly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeXvtz0_Ex0
"Globalisation is a situation in which available goods an services, or social and cultural influences gradually become similar in all parts of the world."
Defining Globalisation
"Globalisation is a situation in which available goods an services, or social and cultural influences gradually become similar in all parts of the world."
Globalisation is the process of people connecting to each other all over the world. This is also called global village. All people become closer and are therefore "living" in a so called global village.
I believe that globalization changed our way of thinking. It goes much deeper than we really realize. Watching movies from different countries, eating other kinds of food and learning other traditions has changed our personalities. We start to learn stuff that might be out of our confort zone. It is really amazing because it shows that most of the societies are open for new things.
Aspects in which globalisation contributes to a better future:
So the world keeps getting more interweaved everday in various aspects and I´m not so sure what to think about it.
Of course becoming more similar to each other helps understanding people from other culture circles than your own.
Naturally information and technology spread more easily, as we are all connected and yes, there is a global market that enables lower prices for the stuff we buy, higher profit for companies and more job opportunities for us.
If we think about our culture there are many things we profit from, e.g.: the exchange of knowledge, cultural awareness and so on. The food is also a big topic and that globalisation brought us from North America, Mc'Donalds for instance or Sushi and Gyros from Japan and Greece. By this trade of food I myself have profited in my exchange year in Latin-America. I could eat products from the U.S.A and there were even products from Germany like whipped cream and bread. I felt a little bit closer to my home and by the cultural awareness we receive these days my "family" understood me and responded to me in a positive way.
