2020 Book Creator competition - all entrants

I was just about to grab a bag but I felt a warm sweaty hand touch my back, it was a policeman. "Sweetie I'm sorry but you can't take over the beach, we have it caution taped for a reason," The policeman said. "But I want to help so the caution tape doesn't need to be wrapped around the beach, oh and don't call me sweetie," I exclaimed then walked away, looking back at his confused face.

"No!" I yell running out of my mother's grasp. I zoom past the caution tape and on top of one of the crates holding loads of caution tape and fencing. "Everyone we are not going to just let them ruin our beach day by telling us we can't have fun. everyone grab a plastic bag and start picking up this trash!"

I grabbed all my stuff and ran to the car I jumped in right behind my parents. Then we were off. Hours and hours later we are still driving and driving and driving. Then My mom says "Millie we're here!"

I jumped out of the car and sprinted to the ocean but I didn't see the beach I was used to seeing every year. The beach was blocked off with CAUTION tape and ropes. I look over the tape and see a beach covered in trash, I feel my mom and dad behind me. "I'm so sorry Millie," my mom tells me walking back to the car.

Allie Leonard is a 5th grade student at Rolling Hills Elementary School in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. She loves to write, read, and draw. Allie has a very loving family including her little brother Josh Leonard, her amazing parents Stacy and Jon Leonard who she wouldn't have been here without , and of course her two playful dogs Daphne and Sparky.

I got into the ocean with my plastic bag at hand to grab a piece of trash way far out. Then I saw something I never thought that I would ever see. A baby turtle with a plastic bag over its head. I gently picked up the baby and pulled The bag off of its head. the turtle silently thanked me and swam away with its family, swimming with a little more happiness than he was before. Then I realised that was going to be something I remember forever.

 I ran through the water until I was on dry shore again. The beach was making great progress and was pretty close to perfect. after an hour later of picking up trash the beach was clean because of everyone's help. I thanked everyone and we all took down the caution tape together. The beach was ready for a long day of fun and no more trash!

When I woke up this morning the first thing that came to my head was THE BEACH! Today was our trip to the beach! I had been waiting for months to go to the beach and we were leaving today!
