Composed by: Elissa KazziAnthology (collection of poems) that explore the problems the world is facing. If we do not act now these problems will only get worse and put us all in danger.
The Earth needs your help
She is feeling unwell
Drought, war, poverty, pollution
We need to find a solution
She is feeling unwell
Drought, war, poverty, pollution
We need to find a solution
Drought
The Earth is cracking.
Water is lacking.
The ruthless,
relentless sun tortures us
With its never-ending heat
Drying the surface of the Earth
Turning it into
A tsunami of orange and red dust
That follows you everywhere
Water in dams is disappearing
Now its nothing but dried up dirt
When will we be more alert
Animals look like skeletons
The sight is heartbreaking
And yet no one is quaking
No blue. No green.
No you. No me.
We can’t make it rain
But we can make better decisions
The Earth is cracking.
Water is lacking.
The ruthless,
relentless sun tortures us
With its never-ending heat
Drying the surface of the Earth
Turning it into
A tsunami of orange and red dust
That follows you everywhere
Water in dams is disappearing
Now its nothing but dried up dirt
When will we be more alert
Animals look like skeletons
The sight is heartbreaking
And yet no one is quaking
No blue. No green.
No you. No me.
We can’t make it rain
But we can make better decisions

War
BOOM!
The Earth cries out
She screams and shouts
The buildings are now rubble
People struggle
Fighting all day long
Gunshots. Explosions.
A never-ending song
of sadness and grief
When will there be relief?
Loved ones lost
At what cost?
Why do we fight?
When we could let it go like a kite
We need to make peace
In order for it to cease
