Polluted Ocean&#160; Bottles swimming, Bags floating like jellyfish,&#160; in a reef of plastic, Our reaction needs to be drastic.&#160; Fish getting tangled Turtles getting strangled PLASTIC KILLS!&#160; An island of rubbish&#160; Growing and growing&#160; Never-ending and flowing Dirty, disgusting, we should feel ashamed&#160; If we don&#8217;t do something now the ocean will never be the same&#160;

War BOOM!&#160; The Earth cries out She screams and shouts The buildings are now rubble&#160; People struggle Fighting all day long&#160; Gunshots. Explosions. A never-ending song&#160; of sadness and grief When will there be relief?&#160; Loved ones lost At what cost? Why do we fight?&#160; When we could let it go like a kite&#160; We need to make peace In order for it to cease

Hi, my name is Elissa Kazzi. I am 11 years old and I go to Our Lady Of Lourdes Primary Catholic School. I have competed in several writing competitions including the WriteOn Competition 2019 and was one of the few people to get a silver award in the state! I am always elected to be involved in the schools' enrichment programs such as, the writing program where you get to compete in writing challenges like this one and the schools' poetry slam. One of my favourite passions is writing, I consider myself as a very creative person and I am always keen to try my best. I really hope you like my anthology and I wish that I have made you more alert about the problems facing the world and that there is always a solution for a better future!

Drought The Earth is cracking.&#160; Water is lacking.&#160; The ruthless,&#160; relentless sun tortures us&#160; With its never-ending heat&#160; Drying the surface of the Earth&#160; Turning it into&#160; A tsunami of orange and red dust&#160; That follows you everywhere&#160; Water in dams is disappearing Now its nothing but dried up dirt&#160; When will we be more alert Animals look like skeletons The sight is heartbreaking And yet no one is quaking No blue. No green.&#160; No you. No me.&#160; We can&#8217;t make it rain&#160; But we can make better decisions

Poverty&#160; Unstable boxes&#160; Stacked on top of each other&#160; Looking as if they are about to tip&#160; This is what some people refer to as homes In the distance&#160; Giant skyscrapers&#160; Rule the city While the poor have nothing Mountains of rotting rubbish flows Down the polluted, putrid stream, it goes Dirty food, dirty water&#160; If we don&#8217;t help it is slaughter We are at a crossroads Act now or the divide grows

Anthology (collection of poems) that explore the problems the world is facing. If we do not act now these problems will only get worse and put us all in danger.&#160;
