The Characters
The two main character are named Mai and Sam
Mai is around ten years old and friends with Sam. Mai speaks in Filipino sign language and she is teaching Sam how to speak in Filipino sign language. She is also friends with Sam.
Sam is friends with Mai and is the same age as Mai. Sam can hear and can speak verbally and she is getting taught how to talk to Mai by doing Filipino sign language.
The Characters
The Problem
Mai is teaching her friend Sam sign language by showing her the signs and the actual object of what she is trying to teach.
Another problem that I saw in the story was that Mai thought they were hiding behind rocks while Sam was running up a hill so there was some miscommunication for that part of the story. they both did not realize so they compromise.
