Hi my name is Mae Matthews and I'm 13 years old. I'm writing this book about my life to give to my 23 year old self. Hopefully by that time I'll be out of college and have my own apartment and working with my dad. I would also like to own my dad's Bronco. Dear me, here is what it was like at 13.

This is my dad, Jason.

I have transferred from Valley Crucis to Hardin Park after fourth grade (COVID-19). My favorite academic classes are science and social studies. My favorite exploratories are drama and peer mentors. Hardin Park colors are red, yellow, and sometimes white. Our mascot is a golden eagle. I would say our rival is Parkway.

I have known Linc since we were in kindergarten. In third grade we were little red riding hood and the big bad wolf. I have come close to his family and spend the night a few times at his house. I have known Soph since we were two years old. We were in a dance and went to preschool together. Her and Linc did not like each other one bit in elementary school. I have known Mer since she was two and I was three. We weren't that close until fifth grade because I transferred to her school. We met because of dance.

Crushes Part 2

I started to like W (code name) in sixth grade. Our families are really close. I started really liking him over spring break at the beach. I liked him off and on and he is now dating someone. This made me feel like I got stabbed in the heart. He is really sweet. I started to like Ethen and liked him for a week. We were in the same camp group for a week. He is really rude. I don't talk to him anymore but I still have his number. I still liked W (code name) but once he started dating someone I just moved on to my now crush, J. J and I are in the same friend group, 2 girls and 7 boys. We have two classes with each other and sit next to each other in both of those classes. I never thought I would like him since we used to not get along last year.

I live with my mom, dad, my brother, and my 100 pound lab. My brother goes to Watauga High School. He is 17 and a junior. It's just him and I upstairs. My mom now works at App as a coach for first year teachers. She used to teach first grade. My dad owns his own business. He does renovating and construction. I have a good connection with my brother. My 100 pound lab is 11 years old.

So this is the end of the letter. I hope you remember all of these people. I also hope we got the things we wanted. I hope that you are working with Dad in design. I hope you are majoring in design with a minor in advertising. I hope you are living in those apartments across the street from your parents house. Thirteen year old Mae you are a good friend, funny, witty, caring and happy. Just remember that you'll always have your family.

Editor's Note My name is Meagan Frost and I'm a junior in college studying special education. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my parents and my brother. I have 2 cats, named Roosevelt and Willa. My hobbies include, writing, reading, playing sports, and watching tv. I've throughly enjoyed getting to know the author and looked forward to seeing her every week. Mae is a bright young lady with a great future ahead of her. Anybody who knows Mae is lucky. Mae, I hope you achieve everything you've talked about in this book.

Author's Note My name is Mae Matthews. I'm in seventh grade and I'm thirteen years old. My favorite foods are Italian and Mexican. I like the singer Pink and country music with a touch of Pop. My hobbies are texting my friends, legos, and dancing. Dance is a real sport whether you like it or not. That's me!

Crushes Part 1

I started to like Linc at the end of kindergarten / start of first grade. I liked him off and on until third grade. I met and started to like Logan in third grade. I stopped liking him in fourth grade and haven't talked to him since then. I met Easton in fifth grade and started to like him into sixth grade. We are friends but don't talk as much. We used to talk a lot. I met Ethan at a church retreat and wish I gave him my number. One of the reasons I returned to the camp was so I would see him again.
