The sun had begun to set as the nobles partied ever longer in the in the lavish castle of the French king: Lecien Cosette Leone. His birthday celebration was grand, with beautiful paintings and marble statues littering the halls. The lords and ladies in attendance wore strikingly colored gowns and suits, whilst dancing and making conversation. Among these nobles was the well known Marquess Alexander Louise III.
Alexander strolled through the crowded halls of the castle and made it to the bottom floor. He opened the large wooden doors and walked outside. He was headed for the creek until he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Where are you going, Young Alexander?" asked King Lecien.
"I am just going out to take a walk and breathe some fresh air. All the noise inside of your castle is bothering me for some reason. I just wanted to have some peace and quiet," replied Alexander
"Very well then," said the King as he walked back inside. Alexander headed out across a creek and through a small forest to reach a tall cliff. He liked going to this certain spot to cool off. He looked into the distance and saw the Burgundy-Habsburg army headed towards the entrance to their village.

This shocking sight had caused him to panick. What would he do? What could he do? It was the King's birthday so he wouldn't want to interrupt his celebration. He took a glance at them once more. Their faces were filled with bloodlust. They looked like they weren't in the mood for negotiating. What would he do?
His instincts took over and he ran to the lookout post. There they had a bell to warn people. He rang the bell three times fast, the signal to evacuate immediately. Then he ran inside looking for the king's approval on his next steps. The king however was sitting on his throne calmly. When Alexander asked what was wrong he just said "It is my birthday, you shall take fight this battle."

Alexander, heeding the king's proclamation, attempted to evacuate all of the women and children attending the party in a quick and orderly fashion. Directing and aiding the escape of the nobles was the first step towards victory. After securing their safety, the marquess joined the other able men to prepare for battle. They discussed tactics and weaponry. Eventually, after much trouble, they decided to elect a leader that would bring them success. Their consensus was to have Alexander lead them. Flattered yet still nervous, Alexander pondered the idea of leading the French forces. He could bring justice and pride for the kingdom of France, or he could bring destruction and ruin.
