When I woke up everyone was talking about the huge mountains that we had flown over and they thought perhaps we were going to land in China . Huh?? How did they know that?  I heard one man say that he thought he saw a section of The Great Wall of China. At first I thought he was joking but then I remembered that astronauts can see parts of it from space. If they were right we would be landing on the continent of Asia soon. I am so excited and well rested after my long nap. 

When we landed in France we knew that we were on the continent of Europe. This is our second of the seven continents on our adventure. Our traveling group knew that it was very important for us to stay together because we did not speak French. We heard people saying words like Bonjour and Merci Beaucoup. We soon learned that those words mean hello and thank you very much. We left the airport and went to see those amazing buildings we saw from the windows on the plane. All I can say is YOWZA!! Or Tres Joli. That means very pretty. That huge A shaped building we saw from the plane is the Eiffel Tower. It is 1, 063 feet tall and there is an elevator that goes to the top. People who take the trip to the top say the view is amazing!! Our next stop was to see the museum that has the glass cube standing on its point. We now know that is the Louvre Museum. It is huge!! It has some of the worlds most beautiful paintings and pieces of artwork. It would take us 4 days to see everything here.

When I woke up, we were still flying above the clouds. I asked several people if they knew where our plane was headed but they didn't know either. I just decided to get my book that was in the storage area above my head. It wasn't long before I could feel the plane starting to head toward land and I had an idea of what continent we were going to land on. I could see a huge building that looked like a giant metal A with lots of lights on it. There was very old museum that had a amazing glass cube standing on its point. I can't wait to get on the ground and start exploring. Then it hit me. I now know what language they were speaking on the plane!! It was French! We are landing in Paris, France on the continent of Europe!!

Bring your favorite stuffed animal and your eagle eyes to spot the sight words in our story. Sit back, buckle your seat belt and enjoy the trip....

When I woke up for the first time on that flight I knew that something was different about where we headed. The flight was a really long one. I had to get up to stretch my legs so I took a walk to the back of the plane. I really had to work hard to keep my balance when I was walking down that skinny aisle between the seats. On my way back to my seat I overheard the flight attendant saying that we had another 4 hours to go. She told me to keep my seat belt on for the rest of the flight. Wherever this plane was taking us was  thousands of miles away from France. Those pilots were hard at work flying this giant silver plane through the cloudy skies. Oh well, back to take another snooze. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

After we got settled in on the plane I found myself ready to fall asleep. Traveling to all seven continents is so tiring and we have only seen two!! I know that I will have so much to share with my friends when we get home. One of the passengers was passing out snacks in a round cup so I took one. It turned out to be mini pastries from France!! That was so kind of her to share! There were a lot of happy travelers knowing that we did get to try the French pastries after all!! It wasn't long before we were flying in a plane full of snoring people. I fell asleep wondering what continent we would land on next. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

It seems like we were able to spend eight hours in France and had to leave. Our trip to the continent of Europe was way too short for me. I wanted to walk along the Seine River and have pastries at a little cafe but it was getting cold outside. Maybe we can come back some day. We were all wondering what continent we were going to fly to next. I have to say that today was one of the best days ever for me!!

As I am narrating this adventure for you l want you to find the sight words on the page. It is also good practice to spell them out loud. You can press the speaker to hear my narration and press it again to pause it. If you are ready for a challenge you can use the sight word in a sentence. Maybe even ask your family to use the word in a sentence, too!!

Are you ready?? Our adventure begins on the continent of North America. We live on that continent but I want to take you to another place in North America. We will fly out of an airport in New York State and will make one more stop on the continent of North America. I am thinking a nice family friendly place, perhaps a huge aquarium in Florida. While we are there, we can look for some of our favorite sea creatures. We can learn about their habitats and what they eat and how they survive in the ocean. I am so glad that I took a big bottle of sunscreen with me. The Florida sun can really give me a bad sunburn.

As much as we wanted to stay and enjoy more time in Florida, we knew we had to hop on that airplane and get to our next continent. We almost missed the plane because there were so many people in the airport!! I heard someone say that we might have to take a different plane. Luckily, we made it on time. The plane was loaded up with our suitcases, we buckled our seat belts and were off to our next continent. The pilot started talking in another language that I did not understand. I didn't know what continent we were flying to but that is fine with me. I was so exhausted from the busy day that I closed my eyes and fell sound asleep...

Flight 108 leaving in 15 minutes. Our next stop will be a mystery....

BOOK TWO Mrs. Bachus

It took us a long time to get out of the airport in Beijing, China. This city has millions of people and everywhere we went was crowded. We were on an old bus for hours and hours and finally reached a section of The Great Wall of China. Parts of the wall were built more than 2,000 years ago but the part we saw was more than 600 years old. We actually got a chance to walk on a piece of Chinese history. Our next sight seeing tour took us to these beautiful structures called pagodas. They were amazing! They did not look like buildings that I have seen in New York State. We also saw a parade on a crowded street and saw these beautiful dragons. It was so much fun!
