What's up 2nd Graders??
I am hoping that you are ready for a little adventure. I am thinking about a sight word treasure hunt. You know, the sight words are on the page and you have to find them in the story. First, I will name the sight word, I will spell it and then you will have to find it in the story. You can also practice spelling it out loud.
Before we start, just a few tips on using this program. You will see a picture of a speaker on each page. Press on that to play my narration ( that is a fancy way to say I am reading it to you) and press it to pause the narration. You may want to do that if you want extra time to enjoy the pictures. You will also see that there are arrows on the sides of your screen. These will allow you to turn the pages forward or backward.
Ready or not, it's time for the treasure hunt!!
there
how
long
something
I started my day wondering how my sister and I were going to spend our time together. It seems like there is always something that bugs me about spending time with my little sister. She really is a nice sister and I am trying to be more patient with her. But she is 4 years old and I am 10 years old. That is a big difference. My mom told me to stop worrying and get something to eat for breakfast.
She bugs me...
finally
four
away
old
We finally finished our breakfast after twenty four minutes. Mom packed up the van and we started our adventure away from home. She told us to keep looking out the window in case we see any animals. I tried to but was distracted by something stuck in between the car seats. Ewwww, gross!! It turned out to be an old fruit snack. Hmm, better get back to seeing how many animals we could find.
there saw think won't
Mom told us to look over there in the field to see a mother goat. She was standing in the field all by herself munching on some grass. I wondered why she was alone until I saw two baby goats walking nearby. Maybe she was teaching them to find her if they ever got lost. I think that mother goat wanted her kids to think for themselves. You know, being a problem solver. My teacher, Ms. Everts, says that a lot in school. I will bet that they won't ever get lost again.

make going sleep five
We watched the goats for about five minutes and Mom said that it was time to get going. If we hurry we may be able to see the farmer make bales of hay for the animals to eat. We drove down a dirt road and saw the farm. We asked the farmer if we could watch him do his chores. He agreed and we were so excited to learn about living on a farm. We saw pigs, cows, chickens and goats!
We stayed for a while, said thank you to the farmer and it was time to leave. He was so kind to teach us about his animals. We hopped back in the van and it wasn't long before my sister went to sleep. zzzzzzzzzz
