What is Bullying?
Bullying is when kids make fun of other kids that are maybe different which would be like calling them names or fighting with them. There is also different kinds of bullying like cyber bullying and bullying in groups. Cyber bullying is when someone is making fun of someone online or on social media. Bullying in groups is when there is leader and they force other kids to bully with them.
Experience and Knowledge of Bullying
You might have experienced bullying or you may have seen it on TV or in the movies. One experience with bullying is in the story, Blubber by Judy Blume. There were three girls, Wendy, Jill and Caroline, in the story who thought they were the cool girls. These girls think they can do and say whatever they want. Wendy peer pressures the girls to bully the girl Linda because she is heavier than they are. Wendy came up with the name blubber to call Linda. She passed around a note in school to let everyone know to call her that name.

From reading this story, I learned that the victim, Linda, felt sad about how they were treating her and the girls were calling her names and pulled her shirt to show everyone that Linda was heavy. The one girl Jill is a bully because she wants to impress Wendy.
My Idea To Fix It
A group of kids who want to help those who are feeling bullied will meet to discuss their issues. The group will meet without an adult so kids can be more comfortable. The group will meet during lunch every day. The bully fixers would be trained by Doctor. M, so they can help their friends. The group would be made out of a few fifth graders.
Thought Bubble
How It Will Be Used
It would be used to help kids talk about issues to other kids and make a new friend while doing it. The bully fixers will work with Dr. M and learn games to help the kids open up and talk more.
