Why do we play?

Play has lots of great benefits - things that are good for us. Read or listen to some of these benefits.

When we run, jump, skip and hop we are exercising our bodies. When we do things with our hands like play dough and Lego, we are exercising our hands that help us with things like our
pencil grip. How cool!

Keeps our bodies strong!

Teaches us how to work with others!

Group games teach us how to get along with others. We need to share, follow rules and solve problems when they happen. The only way to learn these things is through practice.

Helps us with our learning!

It is fun!

There is so much maths in play - we can count during board games, we might share a picnic evenly with a friend or find long and short pieces in Lego. Learning has never been so fun!

When we are having fun, we are happy. Being happy helps us be the best person we can be!

- write or type a letter to Miss Hilary explaining why your game should be played during sport time.
- create a book for the library using paper, BookCreator or Google Slides.
