Jack AyalaBiography
My name is Jack Ayala, and I'm 17. I have been working wiht music for a long time since I can remember but wasn't until my freshman year of high school when I realized that I wanted to start making music. I began learning how to play guitar as well as the drums. Ever since then I have practiced playing the guitar and trying to do my own little drum fill here and there. Later I started messing around with piano and soon found that was my source to making the type of music I wanted, and also help get the songs out of my head and into existence. I also plan on dropping more professional tracks soon that feature my actual guitar and piano playing so stay tuned for that I guess.
Artist Statement
Every artist has been inspired by someone and personally I have been inspired by older rappers and rap groups like Ice Cube and a Tribe Called Quest, as well as artists from the grunge era like Dave Grohl from FooFighters and Scott Weiland from the Stone Temple Piolets. These inspirators have lead me to create the music I do now which is a weird rap/lo-fi, grunge mess. This album is meant for anybody who has lived through the pandemic of 2020 and has felt its weird shifting vibes. This album is meant to represent the different feelings felt in this pandemic and how quick they would shift. With all that said enjoy the experience.
The Selector
This is supposed to give off a jarring uneasy feeling. This song was designed to be a story of a nightmare I had. The nightmare wasn't even that scary when explained. The best way to describe it is calming and continues like a drop of water hitting your head, only the drop is continuous and never stops. It's a feeling that makes your stomach sink, a feeling that tears through the skin and opens the eyes, an unexplainable discomfort.
Loose Loop
The song feels exactly how its title sounds. Its a song that start with a lo-fi, dreamy, sweet intro that repeats in a loop, however this isn't just a tight infinite loop, its a loose loop. This means that the song breaks down into a heavier darker metal song that blares loudly and gives off some grunge vibes.
Dreary Drives
This song is the last song and actually finishes this E.P with a happy ending. It's the calmest song in the album and gives off only peaceful vibes. This song reminds me of the moments I have just driving around peacefully through the mountains which is one of the only things I was able to do in this pandemic.
