Winter Holidays

The students concerned, When would this thing end, And get us back, In school with our friends?

Our Teachers are great, To this crisis they&#8217;d react, With fervor and drive, To keep students on track.

Safe and secure, We made the first wave, Wore masks and kept secluded, Most were trying to behave.

But the virus kept coming, And locked us all down, To stay safe in our homes, Hope this virus leaves town.

So schools and school districts, Wanted kids back, but were torn, Some wanted to return, And so Hybrid was born.

So be cautious out there, Stay safe and take care, And here&#8217;s hoping St. Nicholas, Soon will be here!

Six feet apart, And don&#8217;t sneeze my direction, "I mean I like you and all, But don&#8217;t need that infection."

When warm weather arrived, Some restrictions were lifted, Some restaurants were opened, And to the beaches we drifted.

T&#8217;was a few weeks before Christmas, And all through the town, There were people with masks, That covered their frowns.

Others didn&#8217;t feel safe, Not yet, anyway, So out of that thought, Came the Virtual Day.

Parents were worried, And made some kids stay, To do school work from home, It&#8217;s online now each day.

Parents made sacrifices, And worked with their kids, And they learned to cope, Without blowing their lids.

And so now it&#8217;s December This season we're in, We&#8217;ll gather with family, Hope we don't spike again.

With the holidays coming, Decorations and lights, Spirits high, joyous greetings, To make it through this crazy plight.
