The statue is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone and is 30.1 metres high. It sits on an 8 metres pedestal.&nbsp;

The Christ Redeemer is listed as one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World. It’s also a symbol of Christianity across the planet.

The statue was created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot and it took nine years to build the statue, beginning in 1922 and finishing in 1931.

The Christ Redeemer (in Portuguese: Cristo Redentor) is in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), at the top of Mount Corcovado.
