Water Pollution
What is water pollution?
Water pollution is when harmful/toxic substances get into water such as rivers, lakes, streams, oceans, etc. I'm sure the water isn't even the color it's supposed to be and it's just a whole dark dirty color. I wouldn't suggest people getting in the water that's polluted with such Chemicals, it's harmful to their mental health and our environment.
What can water pollution do to us and our bodies in general?
Water pollution can cause a lot of bad stuff of course but what kind of stuff? well, you can get viruses and diseases from either drinking or swimming in water that has been polluted. It's not just us humans that can also get viruses/diseases. Animals can also get sick from doing the same thing.
What water pollution can do to our bodies is that it can make us have cholera, dysentery, typhoid, hepatitis A, and even polio. This actively demonstrates that you shouldn't swim in dirty green disgusting water. Keep your animals away from water that has been polluted at all times.
What is in our waters and how does it affect us and other animals?
So you probably think our waters are clean, just by looking at it right?

WRONG!

Sadly our waters are not even near clean. And that's because of us and our water pollution.
Let me start off with the basics of how water pollution affects us! One way it can affect us is by either giving us infections or getting us sick. Of course, we all know that, but what other harmful things can it do to us and other creatures?
How do this type of bacteria enter our bodies anyway?
For example, take a look at this picture. Does this look clean?-
I don't think so!
Now, i'm going to answer all the questions on my previous page!
The first question I asked on my previous page was "what other harmful things can it do to us and other creatures?" other than the basics. Well theirs many things you don't know about that affect us! For example, the lack of O2 (or more known as oxygen) can affect the growth reproduction in animals and lessen the possibility of fish surviving in waters lacking O2. Now you may be asking, how does it affect humans? Well it affects humans by discharging nitrogen and phosphorus into waterways through sewage, agriculture and industry! Now bacteria, there are a lot of bacteria lurking in our waters. For example, the Vulnificus bacteria. Deadliest out of all 70 species of Vibrios, it kills 1 out of every 5 humans who get in contact with it. What are Vibrios you may ask? Vibrios are a rod shaped bacteria that lurk in our brackish and balmy coastal waters.
Next question I will be answering from my last page is "How do this type of bacteria enter our bodies anyway?" Well there are many ways! One example, is by swallowing it. Which we all probably know we shouldn't do! There's also other ways like not wearing anything while swimming in oceans also it can enter through wounds. And your probably saying, well swimming pools are safe right? Nope on the contrary! Swimming pool bacteria and viruses are very bad for you.I have examples of them right here.
1. Gastro-causing viruses, bacteria and parasites can live in swimming pools.
2.Germs can be spread when water contaminated by poo is swallowed. While chlorine can keep germs at bay, it doesn’t kill them all immediately.
3.Cryptosporidium and Giardia are extremely infectious parasites that are highly resistant to chlorine.
4.While proper disinfection and maintenance of pools are essential, it’s also important to stop germs getting into the water in the first place.
