In a World of Chaos.
Cassie is trying to survive even though she lost all her memory. How can you possibly survive when the only thing you remember is a white light burning your eyes?
She was walking in the empty streets with no one by her side trying to find a place to sleep. Somewhere she could be in peace. Not with some crazy freak. She knew she probably was the only sane person here. Then she heard someone whining. Out of curiosity, she decides to take a look. There was a little boy hidden behind a half-destroyed wall. Usually, she would just ignore him, but there was something special about this little boy. She was clueless, but she felt the need to help him. Maybe he could help her remember. Maybe this odd boy had answers...
Suddenly he took her hand and she felt a weird cold, but burning sensation at the same time. It was really strange. She looked at him in the eyes and he said:
- “I need to find the white light…”
At this moment she knew that they were related by something and she needed to know what it was. So she sat down with him and they both tried to remember any details that could’ve been helpful. After a while, the little boy remembered something important.
- “I was alone between four white walls and then someone took me to a surgery room. I sat down on a small bed and the last thing I remember is the white light.”
- “Really?” She said.
Not even 3 seconds later, her skin turned to a color that worried the little boy. It took her a couple minutes to defrost and she said:
- “I remember you. Your name is Alex, right?”
Alex nodded his head. He asked her to tell him everything she remembered.
Pointing to the highest tower in the city, she whispered, “I remember an old guy telling me to go there”.
Once they arrived they couldn’t believe it. There were at least a hundred people there and they all looked holy-minded, not like the people in the streets gone mad. A tall guy approached them and started explaining the whole situation.
- “An old scientist named Liston was doing research on a virus. He discovered that the virus was probably going to destroy the population. So he decided to inject a serum into young people hoping that the immune population would survive and recreate society”
The girl turned around and looked at Alex. She took him in her arms. There was something unsettling about this little boy. She knew they were going to be together for a long time.
