High Treason
My name is Will, Will Fluard. I am a retired army veteran that has fought in WWll. I am a very tired and lonely man. Quite some time ago, I had a beautiful wife. Unfortunately, she passed away from cancer. She left me with two beautiful kids whose names are Johnny and Skylar. They are adults now, unfortunately for me. Today, I am moving into my dream home, a cute little house on the side of a mountain. On the way there, I started feeling a little bit weird, as if something bad was about to happen. The closer I got to my new property, the feeling started getting a lot worse. I decided to expel the idea of something or someone hunting me and just blame it on the post traumatic stress disorder I got from fighting in the many missions I spent the majority of my life in the army. I entered my new home and started unpacking my stuff. The house looked amazing. Even though I was the only one here I didn’t feel quite alone. I started reading one of my favourite short stories, Fabulous Land. Around 10pm, I heard a weird sound outside, like if my garbage can started rolling around my property. I went to check on it. As soon as I left my dwelling, I could smell the reek of a dead animal. I felt terrified because that smell triggers my PTSD. I started roaming around my yard to find the problem when some kind of phantom was right there, staring deeply into my soul. It started getting closer to me so I kept standing there, waiting for it. It kept looking at me and getting closer until I realized who this lost soul belonged to. The ghost looked at me and asked me if I remembered who his body used to belong to. Freddy Clapart. He told me that he came back to kill me because when we were at war, he got shot and I ran away leaving him wounded to bleed out. He started looking deeply in my eyes and I could feel him pulling out my energy and my soul. I couldn’t move so after a whole minute, I fell on the ground, lifeless.
