Hi, My name is John. I'm 11 and 1/3 years old. And my FAVORITE ABSOLUTE FAVORITE thing to do is play basketball. Well ..... it hasn't always been this way. Let me take you down memory lane, but before that, I need to say some stuff about me. So, supposedly my great-great-grandma was like this amazing Gold Medalist (according to my dad). YAY! NOBODY CARES! But you know the saying, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Well for me, I'm the apple that rolls all the way down the hill as far as possible from the tree. To be completely honest I'd rather sit home and play video games all day eating junk food. But one day this all changed.
March 12th, 2020 a Friday. It was going to be awesome! My friends would come over and we would stay up all night and watch movies, T.V, all sorts of that stuff. During school, we had to do a precept project that we didn't even get to pick! The precept I got assigned to was like, about going the extra mile? I mean I didn't even know what that meant! And I had to write about it. That was tough! We even had P.E that day! Everyone sweating, heart racing like you just ran 1000 miles. That was the type of P.E we had to do. So dreadful am I right? When I walked inside the gym I could already see myself tired and I just wished I could go home! First, we did some stretching. Then, we started doing some jumping jacks, push-ups, squats, cardio, and pull-ups. Oh yah, by the way, we were boiling in there. The thermostat was broken and it was very hot, we were LIKE EGGS! (Only if you were a hard-boiled egg) . At the end of practice, we would always play basketball. This would be horrible because by this point your legs would feel like noodles, palms would be sweaty, and you could barely even walk! And we still had to play basketball. NO! NO! NO! This was going to be so hard, it was going to be like a prison! The coach/teacher said that if you didn't want to participate you didn't have to. So, right away everyone ran out like a herd of buffaloes. HALLELUJAH! I was so pumped up, I got to leave early, AND I didn't have to play basketball, BYE BYE! But just like everyone else I was given the choice. Stop and take the shortcut or keep going and benefit me by working out and exercising. This was the turning point, the CLIMAX! OHHHHHHH! Now it all makes sense. Not literally, just put in the extra work it will pay off! Now it makes sense, I quickly ran back on the court of course empty to workout by myself with the coach.
