Things got really serious when I was like 8 years old. Our tribe was living his best on the biggest trees in the forest. I remember that day very well. My mom was looking out for me and my sister Ginny. Our father was out to collect food. Everyone seemed to be happy, until we heard the Iron Monsters.
They came with big noise. The women and the children started panicking. Luckily the men came home early that day and started to figure out what they should do. They formed 3 groups each one had 4 males in it, and they tried to encircle the Monster. They said to the women and children to stay in the nest, but everyone knows that I am curious, so I followed them. That was the luckiest thing that could’ve happened in my life. So I was following the groups and in the distance I saw that they successfully stopped the Monster. I had a bad feeling, it was too easy. Some time passed and I heard the lightning, I looked to the sky and realized that these were not lightning, instead these were the Bald Gorillas’ lightning sticks. I froze because they were horribly loud. I just couldn’t move. I thought to myself what if my dad died. But I finally plucked up the courage and started running home to warn everyone. When I was half way I heard the lightning again, but this time it came from my home.I was panicking… Where do I go?... What should I do?... And then I realized what my mom always said to me,:“If something bad happens to us, go in the way where the sun goes down. If you go enough you will find another tribe. You will tell them you are Bandu, son of Toru, and they will welcome you because there lives your father’s sister and her family. ”
So, I did what my mother told me. I did find my father’s sister, whose name was Kayla, she raised me as her own, and I loved her like my mother, but I never forgot my real family. I will always love them, and they will live forever in my heart.
