The room was bright, ceiling light glaring down on a patient bed, a man lying there on his back straight as a board, eyes shut and mouth ajar. his leg was in a cast and his arm in a sling. His face was littered with now bruising cuts, one particularly nasty one went from under his eyebrow, over his eye and stopped just above his lip.
a nurse ambles in looking at a chart muttering to her self,
She announces her presecents to the man, he opened his eyes revealing beautiful brown with green flecks. The nurse smiles kindly. he tries to grin in response that just flinches.
The nurse walked over and began to inject him with painkillers. she locked eyes with him but all she saw was emptiness.
She went threw her routine check and ask "do you know what day it is?". The man took a moment before responding "no."
Then she proceeded to ask "Do you know your name?"
His eyes widened and a smile crept across his face and his answer again was "no."
He appeared to be crazy and whispered under his breath "it worked" and he repeated it over and over with more intensity and excitement. He looked like he'd gone insane.
"I will leave my past for good," he said with a deranged glint in his eye. "from now on I'm Griffin" he announced to the nurse.
