On this dark and cold night on the Atlantic ocean, we all got woken up by the loud bang and the intense shaking of the ship. We were sleeping in our third-class facilities when we got woken up by the cacophonous noise. Everyone was confused by what happened and we exited our room. On the bridge, everyone was panicking and running everywhere. “We hit an Iceberg !”, I heard one of the crew members say to another. The crew member noticed the terror in everyone's eyes but quickly added “Don't worry, this ship is unsinkable”. Everyone knew that this was false because of the terrified sailors rushing toward the lifeboat. We went downstairs to pack as many things as possible as we knew that we weren't coming back. But as I was trying to leave on one of the lifeboats on the side of the ship, the crew member said that I couldn't bring any luggage on board. As I was about to enter the lifeboat and leave the ship, the man stopped me and said,“ Sorry sir, children and women first”. “Let me in! Let me in! Let me in !” I shouted in anger. I had to find a way to leave this doomed ship and survive. But I realized all hope was lost after a few hours of trying to board different lifeboats. Soon the ship tilted almost vertically and I got ejected out into the freezing cold water. I was starting to lose consciousness and soon I passed out. I saw my life flash before my eyes and I had one final thought, “Was I a good person ?”.
