Safe and Sound

by Curro Tejero Troyano
“No Goofy, we can’t just wander into a vicious cave without ever hearing from it, it’s madly insane. Look, why don’t we just set foot for that loving village and prepossessing meadow”. Goofy thought, and then told Henry, “Suit yourself, I’m going into the deep dark dank cave as you say,” and laughing, he left.

Henry, stressed, thought of what to do. He decided to go to the village, when something flowed through his body. He was sad, missed Goofy and he couldn’t leave him. What if he was in trouble? He would help.

Henry ran following Goofy’s steps. He couldn’t stop thinking about him, what if he was facing death? When from nowhere, a steep bluff appeared, which made Henry fall savagely, like a little sausage, down. Fiercely he grabbed to a rock that was sticking out. He barked for help, but there was no help beyond the cave, and he tried to climb up, but it was useless.

When there were no hopes that consoled him, Goofy appeared from nowhere to be seen. He asked “What are you doing here?”
“I had a presage that said you were in trouble,” said Henry.
“Really? A presage?” laughed Goofy.
“You really accomplished it. Just throw me the rope!” said Henry.
He threw the rope, which sank down into darkness. Henry tried stretching and finally reached it.

“Ahhhhhhhh!” shouted Henry.
“What now?”
“A...a...a beeeear!” panicked Henry.
“Hahahaha! Dude, just stop it all ready. Pull me up,” said Henry when a loud roar echoed through the cave.
“Was that a....”
“Yess!” snapped Henry. “Just leave, save yourself.“
“Never!” said Goofy and he started pulling with the bear very close.
Goofy pulled and Henry climbed, until finally reaching the top. The bear was looking at them strangely. They flew through the cave probably making the 500 metres world record and, at the meadow, they threw themselves down and rested smelling the beautiful flowers.
