Most of us think that the dreams we have are unreachable. We think that there is always someone better who will accomplish what we wish we could. However, for Josie, that was never the predicament. Growing up, Josie had big dreams of being a nurse one day and helping the people that would end up needing her most. As Josie expressed these dreams to her peers, they all doubted her. They would tell her she wasn't consistent or committed enough to pursue medical school. She often was told that she wasn't the "type" to do something so serious. Even Josie's family had skepticism towards her career choice.

The contrasting factor Josie obtained was a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard for what she wanted. Throughout high school, Josie kept her circle small to focus on her studies. She knew in order to get into a good college, her grades had to be stellar. Her senior year had come and gone in the blink of an eye. Josie had offers from ivy-league schools, begging for her attendance. She never shared the news with anyone because she really wanted to prove everyone wrong.

As the summer after graduation began, Josie decided to commit to Dartmouth college to further her medical knowledge. As her summer went on, she decided that she wanted to get a head-start on her studies. She had spent hours in the local library examining medical terminology books and learning new things to help her when she got to college. As that time came upon Josie, she went to school for her fall semester at Dartmouth.

Her teachers were so impressed with her informative spectrum of medical knowledge. As college went on, Josie always kept her positive attitude and to no surprise, her willingness to learn was ever-present. Josie graduated and went on to be one of the best nurses the United States had seen. She was constantly receiving awards and all types of job offers. Josie chased after something she wanted. She didn't let anyone tell her she couldn't accomplish her dreams. Our dreams may seem like a far reach, but they're never impossible to grab.
