Many thousands of years ago, there was a beautiful woman named Jane. She lived in Athens, Greece.
One day, while Jane was walking through the town, Zeus spotted Jane from Mount Olympus and Hades spotted her from the underworld. They both thought she was beautiful and they fell in love with her instantly.
After both Zeus and Hades saw Jane, they argued for hours about who would marry her. Hades would say, “You are weak and ugly Zeus, my brother. I will be the one who marries Jane.”
“Oh really Hades, you are more ugly than Medusa. I will be the one who marries Jane.”
After hours of arguing Zeus and Hades finally came to an agreement. They would have a fight on Mount Olympus. Whoever won, would get to marry Jane.
When the fight began, it was brutal, both gods using all their strength and anger against one another to try to win the fight. The fight went on for hours, but finally, Hades gave up after being so wounded that he could barely move. Zeus was also very hurt, but not as badly as Hades.
After the fighting, Zeus was very happy to have won as Hades slumped back to the Underworld.
Soon after, Zeus and Jane got married and had three kids. Both Zeus and Jane were very happy to be with each other.
Hades was so mad about losing the fight that he wanted revenge. He planned to turn Jane into a bug. Hades’ evil scheme failed when Zeus saved Jane at the last minute. Hades tried multiple times to hurt Jane but each time he was stopped by Zeus.
Zeus had enough of Hades fooling around so Zeus said to him, “‘Hades, if you do not stop trying to hurt Jane, then I will take you off your throne and throw you down into Tartarus with Cronus and the rest of the Titans.’”
“‘Fine, God of the Sky. I will stop trying to hurt Jane and I will return back to the underworld,’” Hades replied.
Ever since then, Jane and Zeus were never bothered and lived happily for the rest of their lives.
But, every time Hades sees Zeus and Jane together he gets so angry that his anger gets blown right through the underworld and through the Earth's volcanoes, lava exploding with his anger.
This is why volcanoes erupt to this day.
