The Late Night Sight
Rose crept down the stairs, rubbing her sleepy hazel eyes and pushing back her messy blonde hair. As she enters the kitchen she sees her dad sitting at the counter, his slightly wrinkled face and brown eyes shine brightly through the gleaming moonlight. She waves to him, grabs some water and ascends back up the stairs. As she lays there in bed, trying to go back to sleep, a thought occurs to her. Her dad passed away years ago from a car accident. This thought causes her blood to freeze over. She runs down stairs only to find no one is there. Was anyone ever there? Was that just her overactive imagination? But no! She could’ve sworn he was right there! Now, obviously scared, Rose runs upstairs and tries to go back to sleep. But sleep wasn’t going to come on this chilly autumn night.
