I had a dog named Charger. We named him that because my dad's favorite football team is the Chargers. He was born in 2008, and he died last year. Charger was twelve years old when he died. Now he lives in dog heaven.
Charger was an Akita, Shiba Inu, German Shepherd, and Jack Russell mix. He had cute, floppy, black ears. There was also a white stripe of fur in the middle of his face. He had an adorable curly tail that would flop from side to side when he was happy. Charger was mostly white, but he had little black spots around his feet. He also had a very fluffy neck. It was so soft and furry.
Every year on his birthday, we would buy a dog cake mix that came with a plastic mold in the shape of a dog bone. He loved the cake so much. Most of the time we would get him banana cake, but on his last birthday we got him peanut butter. That was his favorite one by far. Charger would try to eat all of the cake in one bite. We usually gave him some for his dessert at night for a week after his birthday because the cake was too much for him to eat in one sitting.
Charger loved to play with us. He had so many toys. One of them was a bright orange and blue frisbee that he loved to play with. My dad and I would throw it around our backyard and he would run and catch it in his mouth. Another one of his toys was a cow. He would play with it in the house and it would squeak. He also got a lizard that he would carry all around. There was also a toy snake. I gave him that snake for Christmas. The head was a squeaky toy, the body was a rope that we could play tug-a-war with him, and the tail made a rattle sound. He loved it so much. Sometimes he would throw it up in the air and it would land on his back.
I could not have asked for a better dog. I loved how he would poke me with his nose when he wanted to go outside, when he was hungry, or when he just wanted to play with us. In my memories, I can still feel how soft his fur was. We have so many pictures of Charger, so I will always remember him. He was the sweetest dog in the world.
