Long ago, there were two races: the Legion, and the Vex. Their conflicts destroyed planets and stars, leaving rubble floating through outer space. Their forces fought with no mercy, and the casualties continued to pile up. Years passed, and nothing changed. They knew that if they continued fighting, they would all perish. So, with no end to the conflict in sight, they agreed that they had to put an end to the war.
The leaders of the Legion and Vex agreed to meet up on a distant moon named Zephn, where none of the effects of their conflict had struck. They agreed to unite forces, and attempted to rebuild what remained of the universe. They raised up planets that were wartorn, and they worked together to support each other. But as the years passed, things began to unravel.
Even at peace, they fought over the different solar systems, as they fought to gain an upper hand in their territories. Leaders became corrupt, and dynasties came and fell. The two races used their resources, until there was none left to use.
Once again, they met up. Knowing that they alone had doomed themselves, they resolved to make new life. They made agreements and treaties, splitting the land between them. But they knew it would not be enough. In order to continue life in the universe, they began to make preparations.
Using their combined powers, they created planets and named them Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Earth. They formed them around a star, which they called the Sun, and hid them far away from the reaches of the evils that plagued the Vex and Legion. They put life into only one planet, Earth, as a reminder to those who would inhabit it that resources are fleeting.
Earth had vast blue oceans, land full of life, and mountains high as the sky. They took stone from the mountains, water from the oceans, and leaves from the trees to make new life, which they called humans. They gave them knowledge, food, and resources in order to survive in hopes that they would not fall to the same problems as they had.
