In the beginning, there was a lonely giant tree.

The tree lived for many years alone, with nothing. After years and years alone the tree was overcome with loneliness and began to cry. As the tree cried it shook and waved; debris began to fall. The tears of the tree became the grand oceans of Earth and the falling leaves became the land of Earth, the dew from the leaves became the Earth’s rivers and lakes. The seeds from the tree fell, but because the tree was sad they only grew to a small size; they became the forests of the Earth. The tree eventually stopped crying and noticed what it had created. The tree was happy because it was no longer alone. But the Earth did not know about the tree. So the Earth became lonely, and as the Earth got lonelier and lonelier it got more and more frustrated. Eventually, the Earth became so frustrated, it started to jump up and down; when it did this the Earth shook and the elements at the bottom came to the top and the elements at the top went to the bottom. The Earth shook for three months and over this time all the elements combined and mixed together and created humans and animals. When the Earth saw that it had created life, it became happy and stopped shaking. The Earth was now mostly happy, except when displeased by humans or animals. In these moments of displeasure, Earth would cry, creating floods, or, become angry and shake the world with devastating earthquakes. Over time Earth became older and older and grew weary of keeping an eye on humans and animals all of the time, so Earth created the Gods: Cia the God of humans, Fath the God of animals, and Saples the God of forests. Cia and Fath were lazy gods though, so they created sub-gods to represent nations of humans and species of animals. War was started when the sub-gods of two nations fought; animals became extinct when the Gods of their species were too distracted with their battles to care for them. Saples was the only God that stayed loyal to Earth and did not create sub-gods. Saples took care of the forests as best it could but the shortcomings of Gods Cia and Fath and the constant fights of their sub-gods was devastating to the forests. Eventually, Cia and Fath and all of their sub-gods warred themselves to death. Saples was the only God left. Earth felt sad for Saples so Earth rewarded Saples with the ability to grow a giant tree. As the new tree grew, it sapped the last of the original giant tree’s energy, draining the earth and Saples of their life source.

And all that remained was a lonely giant tree.
