There once was a girl called Maya who loved cats. Every day she would look at cat videos and pictures. On a beautiful spring day, she heard a meow. Maya scrambled to look out of the window. "Is it a cat?" Maya asked herself. "Or a kitten!?" She looked out the window again, no sign of any cat.

Usually, cats wouldn't be in her garden, but Maya would not leave the cat alone. What if it needed help? She looked out again, and she heard it again! A shrill meow. This time it came from a bush. "ʼThat is it!" Maya declared. "I know it is a cat, in need of help." She ran out to the garden. It was a nice spring day.

"Now, where could the cat be?" Maya imitated a cats' meow to attract the cat. A bird came out of the bushes. Not just any bird, A catbird! "So you are the one making the meow noises!" Said Maya. "I suppose I can't get mad at you, you are a cute bird." Maya suddenly had an idea, she rushed home and made a bird feeder. She filled it with nuts, seeds, and mealworms. She hung it out the window so that she could always feed, and hear the birds.
