Have you ever dreamed of the perfect swish, the one that makes you feel like you could do anything like when you taste candy for the first time. Well, yesterday I got that perfect swish. It was my last basketball game of the whole entire season, and our team needed to win the game to make it into the playoffs. Everyone was so nervous and excited at the same time, because we were playing a really good team, so we had to be at our A-Game if we wanted to win this game. When the game started the other team got the ball then right away they made a 3-pointer. So when we got the ball we tried to do the same. We ran a play to get our best 3-point shooter open and he did get open but, he missed the shot. The other team got the rebound and sprinted down the court and got a layup. Right now the score is 5-0 we are losing, I get the ball, then I go right past the guy who is guarding me then I pass it out to my teammate he pump-fakes the guy who tried to block his shot, then he gets wide open for the easy mid-range shot and it hits the rim and misses. The game goes like this for the first half. When the halftime buzzer sounds the score is 35-15 we are losing by 20 points and everyone in the locker room is sad. Their heads are hanging, bad facial expressions and they are sad. I walk in and notice that everyone is sad, and I say "Come on guys we can still win this game." Then one of my teammates says "Pffft we can't win this game, we are losing by 20 points to one of the best teams in the whole league we aren't gonna win. " But I tell him (Que Uplifting Music) " Come on we didn't just make it all the way here to just lose we are trying to win a championship, we need to give it 110% effort every second of this game and if we go down, we go down swinging." Now halftime is over, and because of my inspirational speech everyone is happy and they feel like we have a chance. When the 2nd half started we were unstoppable we came out firing at all cylinders and by the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was 53-57 we are winning by 4 and everyone is happy. We go to our bench and everyone is giving high-fives and getting happy and they feel like they could do anything. Now it is the 4th quarter the other team comes out and scores 4 quick points now the game is tied. The 4th quarter is pretty much back and forth the whole time. Now there are 5 seconds left the game is tied at 70-70, my team has the ball they inbound it to me and I look at the clock 5,4,3,2 I do a stepback 3-pointer while the ball is in the air the buzzer sounds then I look at the ball then SWISH! My team wins! The crowd is going wild like AHH! AHH! AHH! My team is so happy everyone is screaming and yelling that our team was in the playoffs, I was happy too of course but at that moment I knew that I got that perfect swish. The End
