Floorboards creaking, pots and pans rattling, food burning, Sydney never thought her life would fall into pieces waiting to be put together with two kids and working a full time job as a low level chef at a nearby famous Italian restaurant. At 7:00 AM, the two boys have to prepare for school and be out the door by 7:30 AM to catch their bus to elementary school. Sydney is trying to make a reasonable meal to get them through the day without complaints.
"I'm sure this will be enough, enjoy your day."
Yelled Sydney as Parker and John exited the tiny apartment.

Sydney cleaned up her broad mess, and laid down to read her favorite magazine, Food Dreams. The cover page had an image of Son Pier, talented Michelin star chef, owning several famous restaurants, being a restaurateur, and a food critic, all of Sydney's dreams. Page two of the magazine illustrated an exotic cornbread casserole, but Sydney flipped on to the next page, knowing she had mastered the dish before.

Sydney's alarm rang, and that was her signal to head to the kitchen and prep her meals for the incoming customers at 8:00 AM. Sydney zipped past the door, and bolted her way to a taxi where she would be on her way to Maria's classic Italian, a classic/modern Italian cuisine restaurant.

Sydney paid the driver 50 cents for the paper and lounged as she read the eventful headline. Son Pier cooking extraordinaire contest, Son Pier was hosting a contest where the winner would hold a secured head chef title in one of his restaurants. Although excitement shined throughout Sydney's mind, she realized she had no chance at winning. She folded the paper and tossed it in her bag fiercely, then came upon something strange.

The quiet streets of Chicago lit up with smiles as people read Son Pier's contest. Chicago was filled with aspiring cooks, but due to poor backgrounds, their dreams were usually shattered instantly. Sydney raced over to an alleyway and ripped out the advertisement, and cooked her life out, for the next two weeks.

She hoped in her fantasy world, that her hard work and technique would pay off in the contest. Sydney, powerful with fire in her eyes, slayed her competition all the way to the finale. Though tough on the battlefield, she had a weak heart hoping her kids would be well taken care off by the nanny. At the finale, Sydney would have to face her most glorified opponent yet, Greg Marshall, a Chicago native trying to dig his way into the industry. The cook off began, Sydney was making an extravagant Steak-Frites while Greg was cooking his families all time classic, homemade mushroom pasta. As Sydney finished her Bearnaise sauce, time ran out.

The masterful food critics stayed silent as they slowly consumed their way through all the food. After long decision making, Sydney was crowned the winner, and just like that, she knew she was on her path to being a Michelin star chef.
