What was your favorite part of this year? This could be about an assignment, a teacher, or a school experience.

Even though we couldn't be together this year, what is your silver lining of 8th grade?(Shout out to a friend, family, experience, or teacher during distance learning). 

My favorite part of this year was when we all played among us with our teacher Ms. Sveiven. Playing with everyone was really fun, hearing everyone's voice for the first time, even though we were arguing on who was the imposter, it was fun. Another favorite part of this year was when we had to make a comic, it was fun to draw the scenes and come up with a creative plot.

Even though we couldn't be together this year my silver lining was my advisory and English teacher Ms. Sveiven. She was always creating fun games for us to play and listened to her students. She always had different check-ins and activities to do. She really made online learning fun for me. 😊

In English, we learned all about different types of writing, such as narrative and informative. We read a novel called "The Giver" by Lois Lowry and many news articles, some fake and some reliable.

I determined if this news source was reliable or fake. I chose the article about binge-watching because I wanted to know if It was really harmful to people.

My favorite assignment was the Solar System slides because I got to research every planet and learn different facts about them. Which helped me to compare them all.

In Science we have been learning about Astronomy and Non-contact forces! Students have studied the solar system, analyzed the planets, and created models of the solar system and Earth-sun-moon system.

In 8th grade math, students have worked with Number Systems, Expressions and Equations, and Functions, and will be diving in to Pythagorean Theorem, Geometry and Probability and Statistics for the remainder of the year.

I really enjoyed this project because we got to create different examples of angles that we learned during that unit and decorate our city making it super colorful.

My favorite assignment was the Civil War hat project/test because we had to do research and read about the Civil War. I also loved that we got to be creative and make the hat very colorful.

P.E. with Mr.McDaniel is always different. We have watched several videos on basketball, volleyball, and baseball. All the videos have taught us different technics on how to pass a ball, catch a ball, and hit the ball according to the sport. Occasionally, on more stressful days, Mr.McDaniel would put a yoga or meditating video to make us all relaxed and calm. 

The assignment I chose is the fitness chart because it keeps me on schedule with my exercises and which I have completed that day.  

For our comic book, we have to do main character sketches this is my main character design.
