What was your favorite part of this year? This could be about an assignment, a teacher, or a school experience.

Even though we couldn't be together this year, what is your silver lining of 8th grade?(Shout out to a friend, family, experience, or teacher during distance learning). 

My favorite classes are history, dance, theater, and science. And every teacher is amazing. I especially love our dance assignments and I loved reading The Giver. And the 8th grade socials are the best part of the year.

I have to thank all the teachers for making it easy and helpful to us during online school. And I want to especially shout out to Ms. Williams for doing so much for us and making all of our assignments with so much effort. And thank you Ms. Sveiven for making those warm ups, they are so helpful.

In English, we learned all about different types of writing, such as narrative and informative. We read a novel called "The Giver" by Lois Lowry and many news articles, some fake and some reliable.

I figured out if the article was true or false/reliable/credible or not. I used the article about binge-watching because I wanted to know what it was about. I wanted to know more about binge-watching.

My favorite assignment is The Solar System Project. I also loved the edgenuity assignments but I couldn't present that. The Solar System Project was amazing. This was so interesting, there was so much I didn't know a lot about the Solar System. I love astronomy.

In Science we have been learning about Astronomy and Non-contact forces! Students have studied the solar system, analyzed the planets, and created models of the solar system and Earth-sun-moon system.

In 8th grade math, students have worked with Number Systems, Expressions and Equations, and Functions, and will be diving in to Pythagorean Theorem, Geometry and Probability and Statistics for the remainder of the year.

This Civil War hat is my favorite project/test. It was so fun and really interesting.

In dance we do physical and written assignments. We work in groups a lot. We perform. We learn about the history of dance. And we have lots of fun.

My favorite assignment is My Historical Project. I poured my heart into it and worked so hard. I learned a super hard dance from watching, in about a week. It was all worth it. It was so fun! It was my absolute favorite project!

I chose to present my Fractured Fairy Tale Monologue. My Fractured Fairy Tale is a modernized version of Pinocchio. I worked so hard on it and it was so fun. It was hard to make my own, but Mr. Herrera did a good job assisting us to do better. He helped out a lot. <a href="https://lms.lausd.net/submission/2070501093/source">IMG_2425.MOV</a>&nbsp;
