In English, we learned all about different types of writing, such as narrative and informative. We read a novel called "The Giver" by Lois Lowry and many news articles, some fake and some reliable.

This test was actually really fun! We read an article and had to look into the article and examine a bunch of stuff to determine whether the article was credible or not!

My favorite assignment...
My favorite assignment was the Solar System Slides project that we got to do in the Astronomy Unit! It was super interesting to learn about all of the planets and the atmosphere around them!
In Science we have been learning about Astronomy and Non-contact forces! Students have studied the solar system, analyzed the planets, and created models of the solar system and Earth-sun-moon system.
Math
With Mr. Mullen
In 8th grade math, students have worked with Number Systems, Expressions and Equations, and Functions, and will be diving in to Pythagorean Theorem, Geometry and Probability and Statistics for the remainder of the year.
My favorite assignment...
My favorite assignment was "The Great Lines and Transversals City Project"! It was really fun to work on and I got to use my imagination which was nice!

My favorite assignment...
My favorite assignment in this class was the "Children's Book Illustrations Dance" project! It was a really creative project! I also got placed in the Charlotte's Web group and that's one of my favorite children's books so that was exciting!

My favorite assignment for this class was the monologue video for my fractured fairy-tale assignment. My monologue is from my fractured version of Hansel & Gretel that I created!

REFLECTIONS
What was your favorite part of this year? This could be about an assignment, a teacher, or a school experience.
My favorite part of this year was English class. Even though we were on a zoom call, English class was pretty much the only class that I felt like I actually learned something. We also always do warm-ups in the morning which basically asks how we are doing in creative ways with different pictures/characters. I have English first period on 1,3,5 days, so I am always tired in that class, but Ms. Sveiven is always really kind and cares about how we are feeling, which is really nice.
