What was your favorite part of this year? This could be about an assignment, a teacher, or a school experience.

Even though we couldn't be together this year, what is your silver lining of 8th grade?(Shout out to a friend, family, experience, or teacher during distance learning). 

My favorite part about this year was being able to do my work while at home, since I feel like its better for me because I feel more comfortable and get work done faster. I also liked how nice and patient most of the teachers were with the students.

My close friends really helped me with online class because we would talk to each other and ask about each others days, and even help each other when we don't understand/need help on work. We also just try and make each other feel happy when we are feeling drained.

In English, we learned all about different types of writing, such as narrative and informative. We read a novel called "The Giver" by Lois Lowry and many news articles, some fake and some reliable.

I determined if the article I read about Boba shortage was real or fake, I chose this article because I was curious on if it was actually happening

Solar System

This assignment was to gather facts about the planets in our slides and write what we found out. I chose this assignment because it was fun learning more about the Solar System

In Science we have been learning about Astronomy and Non-contact forces! Students have studied the solar system, analyzed the planets, and created models of the solar system and Earth-sun-moon system.

In 8th grade math, students have worked with Number Systems, Expressions and Equations, and Functions, and will be diving in to Pythagorean Theorem, Geometry and Probability and Statistics for the remainder of the year.

Parabolas Project

I chose my Parabola project, because it was a fun project to do. For this project we had to get pictures of different parabolas and match them up, then make an equation for them.

In this class we did things like indoor workouts learning about different sports and our bodies, and demonstrating those sports in our different units like Soccer, Baseball, and Football.

My favorite assignment was our Softball unit, because Softball is the easiest sport for me to do and also really fun.

For this assignment, we watched Shrek The Musical in class and answered some questions about the songs while watching.
