Message from our Coordinator

pava parents,
our students and teachers are inspiring. when i see A student's assignment this year, I think of all the work that has gone into making that one snapshot of learning possible. the level of planning the teacher has gone through as well as the amount of focus and commitment the student demonstrated by completing the work on their own at home. this year has been a challenge for everyone, but Pava's effort to continue to bring meaningful, rigorous learning during distance learning has stayed strong. nevertheless, We look forward to the time when we can see all of our students in person and get to know them in the school setting. please enjoy this look at your child's learning. I look forward to meeting, talking, and laughing with all of you when we return to in-person learning.

I chose the Arcade Fundraiser Performance Task as my favorite assignment because I had a lot of fun doing it. Whenever I understand a lesson or assignment and can solve the problems with ease I tend to enjoy it. I especially liked this assignment because it reminded me of a similar assignment I did in 4th grade.

Near the beginning of the school year, Mr. Gardner went over integers and how to evaluate problems that had integers in them, which were more difficult than the ones I solved in 6th grade. I've learned about fractions and how to divide, multiply, add and subtract them in equations. I've learned to do the same with exponents and roots too. I was also taught how to solve problems with percent. This included how to add sales tax, discounts, tips, mark ups. As well as percent of error and change. In my most recent lesson I learned how to simplify algebraic expressions.

I chose this assignment because I enjoyed solving the problems and it was easier than our other assignments so I had a good time doing this page of homework.
