pava parents,
our students and teachers are inspiring. when i see A student's assignment this year, I think of all the work that has gone into making that one snapshot of learning possible. the level of planning the teacher has gone through as well as the amount of focus and commitment the student demonstrated by completing the work on their own at home. this year has been a challenge for everyone, but Pava's effort to continue to bring meaningful, rigorous learning during distance learning has stayed strong. nevertheless, We look forward to the time when we can see all of our students in person and get to know them in the school setting. please enjoy this look at your child's learning. I look forward to meeting, talking, and laughing with all of you when we return to in-person learning.

My favorite assignment...
This assignment was a digital locker that we had to fill in. It has things that I like in it like my favorite foods and some characters I like. We also had to write a bit about ourselves and present it to a small group in class.
History
with Ms.Rivera
We got to read about Rome and the rise of Christianity, medieval Europe, Islamic civilization, India in the middle ages, imperial China, civilizations of Korea and Japan, the Americas, and African civilizations.
In the beginning of the school year, we learned about the food pyramid and how to read nutrition labels. We went over the digestion system, excretory system, and food disorders. We then went on to learn about how to prevent an unplanned pregnancy and substance abuse. We then read about sexual development, friendships, LGBTQ+, bullying, and abuse. In the next school year, we learned about the properties of matter, chemical properties, and physical properties. We learned about the periodic table. We also learned about the changes of states and states of matter. Along with molecules, compounds, mixtures, and pure substances. Other things we learned about were of chemical formulas, chemical equations, and chemical reactions. The most recent thing we learned about was electrons, protons, and
neutrons.

Science
We had to draw a Samurai during the Japanese Medieval Period and then describe their life. I liked the armor they wore.
