Message from our Coordinator
pava parents,
our students and teachers are inspiring. when i see A student's assignment this year, I think of all the work that has gone into making that one snapshot of learning possible. the level of planning the teacher has gone through as well as the amount of focus and commitment the student demonstrated by completing the work on their own at home. this year has been a challenge for everyone, but Pava's effort to continue to bring meaningful, rigorous learning during distance learning has stayed strong. nevertheless, We look forward to the time when we can see all of our students in person and get to know them in the school setting. please enjoy this look at your child's learning. I look forward to meeting, talking, and laughing with all of you when we return to in-person learning.

I learned how to annotate in a way I can understand. We learned how to identify themes by watching Disney shorts like Bao which was about a mother's love
I really liked to interpret each line in my own way and hearing everyone's ideas.
My favorite assignment
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

My favorite assignment
This was the first performance task this semester and I found it to be quite easy.
I've learned how to simplify and add/subtract expressions; how to figure out tax, tip, percent of change, and mark-up; how to add/subtract/divide/multiply integers; and how to evaluate exponents and roots. The best thing about it all is that I'm able to understand the concepts and be able to enjoy what I'm doing.

My favorite assignment
This was very fun to learn and it's crazy to think that the sky is actually purple but we can't perceive it that way.

This was very calming to do and I actually like how it turned out
During the first semester we learned about Rome and the rise of Christianity; Medieval Europe (which was one of my favorite units by far); Islamic Civilization; India in the Middle ages. Then during second semester we began our unit on Imperial China; Japanese and Korean civilizations; the Americas; and now we are learning about African Civilizations.
