Message from our Coordinator

pava parents,
our students and teachers are inspiring. when i see A student's assignment this year, I think of all the work that has gone into making that one snapshot of learning possible. the level of planning the teacher has gone through as well as the amount of focus and commitment the student demonstrated by completing the work on their own at home.  this year has been a challenge for everyone, but Pava's effort to continue to bring meaningful, rigorous learning during distance learning has stayed strong. nevertheless, We look forward to the time when we can see all of our students in person and get to know them in the school setting. please enjoy this look at your child's learning.  I look forward to meeting, talking, and laughing with all of you when we return to in-person learning.

My favorite assignment...
This is my favorite assignment because it really got me to think about a whole lot of things and how beautiful the world is. This assignment got me to understand and view things a bit differently. I got to expand my think in a way while working on this assignment.
books
In this class we learned how to take notes and the different ways of taking them. We worked on listen wise where we listen very closely to a story and then answer questions based on the story, listen wise is very similar to Read theory only difference is we have to actually read the text instead of listening to it. We learned a lot about writing and how to make sentences complete and how to write a proper paragraph/essay. We learned how to annotate and the rules for it. One of the things that Im enjoying is reading The Outsiders and having a group to read it with and I also enjoy when we read it all together as a class.

We learned about percentages. We learned about sales, taxes, tips, and discounts. We learned more about fractions, mixed fraction, and improper fraction and how to multiply, add, subtract, and divide them. We started to get into Integers and absolute value. When it came to Integers we learned how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide them. We started to learn about the properties like the commutative property and the additive property and many more properties.
Math
This is my favorite assignment because i was able to put this together on my own and incorporate what I had learned and the ways I solved problems. I was also able to put ideas out there and I also loved the outcome of how it come in the end.

Science
We learned and are continuing to learn many things in this class. During the begging of the year we continued to learn about unplanned/teen pregnancies and what you could do to avoid it. We learned more about substance abuse and drugs and how certain drugs affect certain part of you body. We started to learn more about the human body and its functions including the digestive systems and the other systems in our bodies. After we learned more about the body we got into the food pyramid and what foods are good for you and which arent. Then we got into energy, cells, mass, compounds and molecules. We learned about friendships and the difference between loving an liking something or just a person in general. We started to learn about atoms and the difference between physical and chemical properties and how to know which is which. We learned about the periodic table and how to solve equations with the atoms. We started to learn and get into how to balance atoms and how to solve the equations including chemical equations.
I would say that this is my favorite assignment because I spent a good amount of time on this and was really glad with the outcome. Although it didn't come out exactly as I wanted it to I had also expected it to come out worse and for it to come out like this I was glad and proud that I was able to accomplish it and have it come out sort of how I imagined it.
