Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughn
were mathematicians from NASA that made John Glenn's inaugural orbit around the world possible.
This year we calculated:

Spring Semester:
In the Fall Semester, a whole new world opened up to us as we put all of our elementary experience with patterns and relationships towards gaining a deeper understanding about ratios and proportions.

We continued to strengthen our number sense development as we began work with absolute values and operations with integers.
This semester we have further built on our previous work with integers with a major culminating activity.
We are currently continuing to build our number sense base with fractions, decimals and percentages.

We will prepare for future math courses as we explore expressions and equations, which is a foundational building block for algebra.
