Describe your elective class and what you have been learning.

In art class, we're starting to do pixilated art with any of our favorite characters, celebrity, athlete, musical artist, and actor/actress.

We had to pick one of our favorite celebrity, athlete, musical artist, actor/actress, and pick 4 different pictures of that person. Then we had to crop there faces and make it into that^^

For Mario day, we had to pick a character from Mario Bros and make it into pop art.

We're learning more about Polar nights and Midnight suns, and figuring out why they occur.

In class, we made a model of a Polar Night. We had to explain how Polar Night's occur in the Northern hemisphere.

In the middle of class, we do our wellness check. It's basically showing how the kids are feeling lately. You would put a shape on the picture you were feeling at the moment.

We're learning about Football cues and why they're important.

Fielding cues

If you have a bad grade in the class, then you can follow the directions to get extra credit.

In zoom, Mr. Horowitz tells us cues about a sport and we write it down and explain why that sport is important.

Reading Log

We read an article called "Is Graffiti Art?" And we had to write three pieces of evidence, and three pieces of reasoning/explanations to back up our thinking, if graffiti was art.

 We pick a book and write about what happened in the book. We're supposed to read 5 times per week and read for 20 mins each day.

Mr. Neal gave us questions about Manifest Destiny. Manifest destiny is a phrase coined in 1845, is the idea that the United States is destined—by God, its advocates believed—to expand its dominion and spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent.

We had to read about 3 people who began the Gold Rush. After we had to highlight sentences that were important to us and answer questions about those 3 people.

Mostly everyday, Mr. Norwood gives a discussion to everyone in class. The discussions can be about anything. We answer the discussions, then he shares our answers to the class

Mr. Norwood gives us a practice test. We use it to study for our real test, and if we don't undertstand a question, we go over that question in class and work it out.

My hobbies that kept me going: Anime, drawing, singing, and eating. New hobbies I learned during the pandemic: Reading manga. Places I went during the pandemic: Little Tokyo and Nevada. The best movie I watched: A Silent Voice. What I learned about myself: I learned that I can watch anime for hours.
