English class is very vital for real-world situations and skills. As of April, we are learning on how to debate or state your opinion on a certain topic. This would greatly help us with our argumentative and persuasive skills. There are many other topics we will go over as well, such as the informative unit, which helps us with our researching skills. Not only is this class important, but it is also fun. Mrs. Llamas includes fun activities in our lessons to keep the students engaged and interested in the activity.

Video Reflection
In February, Mrs. Llamas assigned a research project. We created a slideshow about a person of our choosing, and we were supposed to get all of our information from the website of biography.com. I wrote mine about John Lewis. Here it is.
In this assignment, I was told to write about a person who think is a hero. I had to include what this person did and what traits led to his heroic actions.

For my third assignment, I had to write an alternate ending for a story called "The Hitchhiker". The original short story ended in a cliffhanger, so I had to make an ending that would satisfy the reader.

Written Reflection!
Math class with Mr. Chun. I transferred from regular 8th grade math to Algebra halfway through the first semester, and it was a great choice! Now I have advanced mathematical knowledge, and I get to take Geometry in 9th grade. The topics we cover, starting with simply combining like terms to graphing inequalities, all contribute to the real-world. Math is in everything.
I am proud of being able to ...
I am proud of being able to determine geometric and arithmetic sequences as well as determine the slope of a line. Those are things I thought were extremely hard in 5th grade, but look at me now!
One way I have improved as a student is ...
One way I have improved as a student is that I have learned how to adapt to things I am not used to. In 7th grade, I was just chilling because I already knew the math that was taught, but when I came to Algebra, I stepped into a whole new territory.
A favorite assignment of mine in math has been ...
My favorite assignment thus far in Algebra class is the lesson about piecewise functions. It made me feel like I was really good at math because it looks complicated! Plus, it challenges your mind, and graphing is always fun!
