Athens: I learned that in Athenian cultures, boys studied subjects such as geometry, drawing, music, and public speaking, and mothers also educated their daughters at home. Sparta: I learned that Spartan cultures invaded neighboring cities and enslaved local people, and Sparta's economy was based on Agriculture.

History Ancient Civilizations Period 5

Our historical journey covered the following:

I learned that the Early India's first civilization began in the valley around the Indus River. About 5,000 years ago, nomads settled in valleys along the Indus River in an area that is now Pakistan.

I learned that in East Asia a civilization began along the Huang He in Chinese, Huang He means "yellow river", this civilization was China. China has gone through many changes over the centuries.

Early India Civilization Digital Notebook 

I learned during the Period of Warring States, the strong rulers of local states fought one another and ignored the weak Zhou kings, one of these states were called Qin. And in 221 B.C.E, the ruler of Qin sent a large cavalry force to defeat the other states and end the Zhou dynasty.

I learned that the Greek culture did not die when Greece's power declined. Parts of it were adapted and used by Romans, the Romans had been mostly isolated from the great civilizations of the eastern Mediterranean region.

I improved in this assignment because there was a diagram to fill out. How I showed the improvement was that I worked with my partners in class together.

PE at home!?! In Physical Education, we want our students to learn why they need to be physically active, especially now! We want our students to learn how they can be physically active, even with limited choices and equipment. With this knowledge, our hope is that our students will be empowered to be physically active and in addition learn new skills to be able to participate in new activities!
