Racial Prejudice

Press Release
The social issue I'll be discussing is racial injustice/discrimination. Racial injustice issues in America surface all the time. For example, in 2020 following the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless other black men and women. I believe this issue to be important because we live in a society with many different cultures and ethnicities: a person shouldn't be judged on their skin color or where they originate from. Unfortunately, there are already 'popular' stereotypes correlated among every race.
Purpose: I wanted to bring awareness to racial discrimination/injustice. Through this song, I used similar feelings of myself and others.
Lyrics:
Long ago, racial equality seemed like a dream that the world would never know
The people should be brought together and yet we still have to teach to not separate
Verse 1:
They wanna treat us like a different breed, like if we don't share the same color when we bleed. But there's still hope, yeah, there's still hope. There's still hope I get to see my brother touch the sky. There's still hope I don't have to see my mother cry. I ain't gotta worry about if today I'm living or if I'm gonna die. Stop the hate. Stop the assumptions. Stop the blame. Stop pointing the finger at a man who you think is a threat. Maybe he should fear for his life around you instead.
Chorus/Outro:
Everybody wanna tell me what I am, what I am not. Well, guess what, I am me and we are all so get out of my face with that negativity before you get stopped. Not perceived by the things I believe in or the color of my skin.
Matter of fact I'll never lose
