PAVA's vision is to provide a rigorous learning environment where students experience the arts through its integration into their core classes as well as through the in-depth study of various artistic disciplines. English
With Ms. Wagener
In English, we learned all about different types of writing, such as argument and creative. We read a short story called "The Hitchhiker" by Lucille Fletcher and a novel called Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.
My favorite assignment...
The "Choose Your Own Adventure" story was cool, because coming up with all the turns it could've taken was really fun.

Hmm... OOH, I got it. I chose this assignment because it was one of the more artistic things I did in science, and also. . science. Biology. Fun-ness (I like science).
In Science, we've learned about natural systems, living systems, cells, body systems, and much more.
Math
With Ms. Yoshino
Math topics include the following: GCF/LCM, rates and proportions, integers, expressions and equations, and statistics. If time allows, we get into basic geometry. We also do a handful of hands-on projects throughout the year.
My favorite assignment...
The Menu Project was another artistic assignment, and I got to come up with my own math problems, which made it fun.

About the class...In History, we are studying Ancient Civilizations. We have studied ancient Egypt, Israel and Greece. We are learning about different cultures by learning about their history, music, dance, art, and literature.
We learned about the Greek gods and goddesses and have done slide presentations.

Gandhi is great, this is (in my opinion) one of my best works from history, and Gandhi is great.
History

Ever curious about how choreographers get their inspiration? Well, you are in luck because currently we are learning about the world of Modern Dance and how using Pantomimes and gestures (real life movements) can be inspired into creating realistic dances. Who would have ever thought I can turn something as simple as brushing my teeth into a dance!?!
My favorite assignment...
I really like this one 'cause it told a story, it had some dancing, and it was fun to do.
