My 8th grade year at Patrick Henry was very different from all of the other years because it was all online through zoom. I learned how to do my assignments through Google classroom. In the beginning I struggled with how to do my work through Schoology and Google classroom. Mrs. Mejia taught us how to navigate Google classroom to be able to finish our assignments and stay calm. My favorite assignments in my science class were all of them. I really enjoy learning about everything Mrs. Mejia taught us in science.

Spring Semester: Natural Resources Human Impact Negative Human Impact

I am proud of this assignment because I worked very hard to receive an A+. My teacher gave me extra credit points for turning it in early and writing more information than I had to. I was the first one in my class to finish this assignment.

This assignment helped me improve by further developing my researching skills. I had to research how Charles Darwin proposed that species arise through a process called natural selection.

This assignment is my favorite because it helped me understand how humans negatively impact the environment. I learned the importance of recycling and how humans must work together to keep our environment clean and healthy.

During my 8th grade year of remote learning, school has been a challenge for me but it has also been a learning experience. This challenged me to work harder and put more effort into my work to be able to maintain good grades. I enjoyed most of the assignments but my favorite one was "The Paper Menagerie activity 1". Some of the challenges I had were learning how to cope with virtual learning and getting used to it. My improvements include being able to do my assignments through Google slides and Google docs and develop my writing and reading skills.

I am very proud of this assignment because it helped me remember what is important in my life to help me succeed. It has motivated me to stay positive and focused. I can always look back at this assignment and remind myself about the things that make me proud and happy.

Below are some of the books I read this year.

This assignment helped me improve my writing and social skills. I had to interview a person who remembered 9/11. I learned how to gather information and take notes to put my story together. This assignment also helped me understand how important it is to stay together in times of need.

This is my favorite assignment because it was a fun assignment to work on. I had to research what my Chinese zodiac is and I found that I am in the year of the Pig. I also found some interesting personality traits about my zodiac.

I am proud of this assignment because I received a high grade and I learned that the untied states had to fight 2 wars for it's independence. I also learned that James Madison was president during this historical event.

This assignment helped me improve my notes taking and writing skills. I found this assignment interesting because it was my first time watching a presidential debate. It also helped me understand what happens in a presidential debate and the importance of it. 

My 8th grade year at Patrick Henry was challenging but it was also a learning experience because I had to adapt to virtual learning. The first semester was the most difficult for me because I had to get used to being online all day but things got better as I adapted. My favorite assignment was the Industrial Revolution because I learned about how it helped build America. Without the Industrial Revolution America wouldn't be what it is today.

This assignment is my favorite because it talks about the industrial revolution and without it, America wouldn't be what it is today.

This project was during the fall semester and we learned how to divide fractions. This assignment was very helpful because we use fractions every day. We use fractions to determine a discount, telling time and finding what portion of a whole you need.

My 8th grade year at Patrick Henry was challenging but a learning experience because I learned how to navigate through Google classroom and Schoology. I learned that math will help me through my high school years and in life. I found the math we learned this year to be very fun and interesting. I appreciate math because it is something that we use everyday. 

Spring Semester: Problem-solving Constant Rate of Change Equations with Variables Equations &amp; Expressions

This assignment was my favorite because I had to solve all of the math problems in order to solve the math puzzle. It was fun to work on and it motived me to continue to work hard.

During my 8th grade year at Patrick Henry, I did many amazing projects in my art class. The beginning of the year was a little challenging because everything had to be done virtually. Things got better when we worked together and Mr. Santana helped us a lot. I learned how to create an ugly sweater through google slides and all of my art lessons were done through Zoom. I had a fun and interesting time in Mr. Santana's art class. I feel that my artwork has improved this year.

I am very proud of this assignment because this drawing is dedicated to my Grandfather (Tata) R.I.P. I put a lot of effort and love into this assignment and it is very special to me. The details in this drawing are the things that my Tata liked. I appreciate that Mr. Santana allowed us to work on this amazing piece.

This assignment is my favorite because it was my first pop art drawing that I had ever worked on. It was a very different style than all of the rest of my other assignments. It was fun to work with the different colors for this drawing.

This assignment helped me improve as a student because I had to be creative with the designs and I put a lot of thought into it. This hair doodle assignment has so much detail and every single pattern is so different and unique. It was a fun assignment which I enjoyed.

My 8th-grade year at Patrick Henry was unique because of the pandemic, we had to do all of the classes online through Zoom. We had online PE lessons which were fun and a great learning experience. At the beginning of the first semester, I struggled with getting used to not being physically in school and I also struggled on how to submit assignments through Schoology. Things got better as we moved on and worked together as a team. Mr. Fenwick taught us many new things and shared power points with information that taught us how to stay physically fit and healthy. He also had us do exercises through zoom. I enjoyed my Physical Education class.

I am proud of this assignment because this tells a little bit of who I am. I enjoy giving the details of the type of person that I am because I am very proud of who I am.

This assignment is my favorite because I learned how to juggle. I also learned that juggling can help you improve your reading skills. It can also improve hand-eye coordination to better your reaction time. This was a fun assignment and kept me focused and it also entertained me.

This assignment helped me improve as a student in my PE class because it kept me focused and helped improve my note-taking skills. Mr. Fenwick taught us how to take our 15-second radial pulse count and the 1-minute pulse count for our true resting heart rate. I enjoyed this assignment.
