Today, Christmas is a very important time in the Christian year, but it is also very important to people who don’t go to church. It is a time for presents, parties, and time with the family.<br><br>

The 16th day marks the first full moon after the Spring Festival and of the New Year, also known as yuán xiāo jié meaning "first night of the full moon". The day is as well known as Lantern Festival day.

The Chinese New Year is a reference to the date of celebration of the new year adopted by several nations of the East that follow a traditional calendar distinct from the Western one, the Chinese calendar.

Chinese New Year is celebrated for sixteen days (from Chinese New Year's Eve to the Lantern Festival). The preparations start seven days before Chinese New Year's Eve. Many celebration activities for this period are traditional customs, but some are quite new

Christmas dinner is in the afternoon and is the biggest meal of the day. Before eating, people pull crackers, and the dinner usually is a turkey with winter vegetables and then a Christmas pudding. people also eat hot mince pies too.

There is also a tradition that good children win presents, and bad children santa only leaves a piece of black coal.
