Easter is a celebration of the tradition of Christianity and reminds us of the last acts of the life of Jesus Christ. This feast arose under the influence of a Jewish celebration, called Pessach, which takes place approximately in the same period. Easter occurs as a reminder of the imprisonment, crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Easter, also called Easter or Resurrection Sunday, is a Christian festival and holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, as having occurred on the third day after his burial after his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent, a period of 40 days of fasting, prayer and penance.

Most Christians refer to the week before Easter as "Holy Week", , including Holy Thursday, which celebrates Holy Communion and the Last Supper, as well as Good Friday.

Easter and the holidays related to it are mobile parties that do not fall on a fixed date in the Gregorian or Julian calendars, which follow only the cycle of the Sun; instead, its date is offset from the Easter date and is therefore calculated based on a lunisolar calendar similar to the Hebrew calendar. No details for the calculation were specified; these were worked out in practice, a process that took centuries and generated a series of controversies. It came to be the first Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or shortly after March 21st. Even if calculated based on the most accurate Gregorian calendar, the date of this full moon sometimes differs from that of the first astronomical full moon after the March equinox.

Passover is linked to Jewish Passover for much of its symbolism, as well as for its position on the calendar. In most European languages, the feast is called by the words for Easter in those languages; and in the older English versions of the Bible, the term Easter was the term used to translate Easter. Easter customs vary throughout the Christian world, and include sunrise services, exclamation of the Easter greeting, church clipping, and decoration of Easter eggs. Additional customs that have become associated with Easter and are observed by Christians and some non-Christians include egg hunting, Easter bunny and Easter parades. There are also several traditional Easter foods that vary regionally.

Easter is the most improbable feast of the ecclesiastical year, most importantly Christmas. People start preparing for Easter forty days before Sunday morning.

A well-known feature of Easter is the fact that its celebration is mobile, so every year it is held on a different date. The criteria used to set this date were established by the authorities of the Catholic Church during the Council of Nicaea, held in the 4th century AD.

Passover celebrated by Christians is a new meaning of a Jewish festival. However, Christian and Jewish commemoration have completely different meanings. This, called pesach, was carried out by remembrance of the liberation of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt.

In addition to a religious date, it is also a playful day for children. The custom in Brazil is to present chocolate eggs or hand painted eggs, filled with sweets. In fact, these eggs are brought by the Easter Bunny.

Early Mesopotamian Christians were the first to use colored eggs at Easter to represent the joy of the resurrection and the recognition of sacrifice. The tradition of offering eggs came from China. Centuries ago, Easterners were concerned with wrapping natural eggs in onion skins, cooking them with beets. When removed from the hot water, they had designs on the shells.

The symbols of Easter in the world are: the lamb (represents the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world); the lights, candles and bonfires (they mean the flame of light and hope); eggs (symbolizing birth, the new life that returns to nature, since the existence of many animals has its origin in the egg); rabbits (they represent birth and new life, due to their fertility, as they are animals that reproduce quickly and on a large scale).

Teacher Summary
Pancake day is the day before Ash Wednesday. During Lent, some Christians stop eating a favourite foot. In the past people traditionally stopped eating eggs and milk.
Pancake Day, this was the day when the British spent the ingredients that were traditionally banned from tables during lent, especially milk, butter and eggs. For Christians, the period between Ash Wednesday and Easter is a time of sacrifice and fasting and the best way British Christians have found themselves to sway before the lack of sacity.
In 2021, Pancake Day will be celebrated on February, 16.

Carnival Tuesday celebrations in England also include pancake races. In these races, participants, usually wearing costumes, run a certain distance holding a frying pan with an already cooked pancake.
