By JoshuaMy mom slid my bedroom door open and softly said, “Jake it’s time for school. You need to eat breakfast.” I was laying down flat on my face and I turned over gently and spread my arms wide open and said, “Morning mom.” Normally I am annoyed by my alarm, but today I was happy because it was my 14th birthday.
I looked in the mirror and a bright smile came across my face like a rainbow. I got dressed and raced down the stairs because I smelled something good. It was pancakes, eggs and bacon with strawberry and blueberry toppings. I asked mom for the syrup. I ate everything.
I finally finished breakfast, I raced over to the couch as fast as Sonic to open presents. I can only open one because I had to go to school. Dad gave me a book and a video game called, Fight Night. The cover had stars in the sky and two strong men that looked like fighters. I had to race off to school. No time to look at the book.
I opened the door, closed it shut, grabbed my bike and went off to school. On my way to school I was curious about the book and what was in it. I got to school and couldn’t wait to go home and read it. As I entered the building, I kept looking at my watch. “Oh no! It is after 9:00 am. I am late!” my teacher is going to be so mad, I thought to myself.
Ms. Gilbert
As I walked into the class, my teacher’s arms were crossed and she was biting down on her lip. She says, “Jake, why are you so late?” “Sorry Ms. Gilbert,'' I say as I take a seat. “Now class, where were we? Oh yes, we’re learning about fractions and decimals''. Even though I was in class, I really wasn't listening.
