Andrew Yang was born in January 13 1975, in New York, USA. His parents were from China and emigrated here. He was bullied and called racial slurs in school because he skipped a grade and because his parents were from china. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy, a boarding school in New Hampshire and was part of 1992 US national debate team. He then got accepted into Columbia law school and earned a juris doctor in 1999. After he finished college at Brown University(1992-1996), he then served as the vice president of a healthcare startup from 2002 to 2005. After a few years Yang joined his friend Zeke Vanderhook, in a test preparation school called Manhattan GMAT Vanderhook then later asked yang to take over as the CEO.

Yang later resigned as the president and became a millionaire. Manhattan GMAT was bought by its larger competitor Kaplan in 2009 for $88 million. A former GMAT employee filed as lawsuit against yang allegedly paying her less than her fellow co workers and then firing her for complaining about it. IN the late 2011 yang started a Venture for America (VFA)note 2 The organization was intended to find and train entrepreneurs to start businesses in economically stressed cities. Yang said it was succesful but it turned out to be not a success.
On November 6 2017, Andrew Yang decided to run for President of United States, the campaign started initially with a few staff hired by his mother. His slogans were "Humanity First" and "Make America Think Harder". Yang was "one of the first Asian Americans in history to run for president".
